RSPCA Op Shops

Get thrifty – it’s good for pets and the planet

Our Op Shops are a treasure trove of pre-loved, one-of-a-kind clothes, homewares and accessories.  From retro kitsch to big brand labels at bargain prices, shopping at our Op Shops is not only good for the planet, but the proceeds help us care for animals in need and investigate cruelty. It’s a rummage for a good paws!

Donate to the RSPCA Op Shops

By choosing to donate your unwanted items to an RSPCA Victoria Op Shop, you’re not only helping the environment by giving a second life to an item that may otherwise end up in landfill, but you’re also helping the animals that we care for.

What items can I donate?

We greatly appreciate donations of quality items in saleable condition. When you’re considering whether to donate a particular item to a RSPCA op shop, a rule of thumb is to consider whether you think the item is in a good enough condition to give it to a friend. We’re able to accept the following items:

  • New or pre-loved clothing, shoes and accessories
  • Saleable quality books and pre-loved toys
  • CDs, DVDs and vinyl records
  • Good quality bric-a-brac and homewares
  • Saleable quality sporting goods

What items can’t I donate?

We ask that you please refrain from donating items that are broken, damaged, stained or faulty as it costs us money to dispose of unsaleable or broken items. We’re unable to accept the following items:

  • Mattresses
  • Pillows
  • Worn underwear
  • Opened toiletries
  • Damaged, chipped or broken items

Volunteer at RSPCA Op Shops

Are you looking for a fun way to give back to the community? Spruce up your retail skills or CV? By volunteering at our Op Shops you’re helping generate funds to care for vulnerable animals, support environmental sustainability and provide good quality products at affordable prices to the community – all the while making friends!

There are a range of roles in each Op Shop, including Op Shop Assistants who help with sorting goods, displaying items for sale and serving customers. Volunteers are asked to commit to a regular weekly or fortnightly 3-hour shift for a minimum of six months.
