Latest opening completes a local “bargain triangle”

RSPCA Victoria has launched its newest op shop in Bayswater. Located at 716 Mountain Highway, the store is open 9AM – 5PM, Tuesday – Saturday.

Claire Foley is the Manager of the new store and is excited to welcome the local community.

“The response from locals was fantastic after our opening on Thursday!” said Ms Foley.

“We have a wide range of items in stock, including new items from brands like Tarocash, Trelise Cooper, Dissh Boutique, plus high-quality linen brands. We’re not far from Salvos and Vinnies, so we like to say we’ve completed the bargain triangle! There’s always a treasure to be found – but people should make sure they don’t wait too long to grab the items they’ve got their eye on, or they might miss out!”

“RSPCA Op Shops are known for their quality goods and friendly atmosphere, which is something we pride ourselves on,” said Liz Irvine, RSPCA Victoria’s Op-Shop Network Manager.

“The proceeds from sales in our op shops are a vital source of funding for RSPCA Victoria. They enable us to care for over 14,000 animals every year. All donations and purchases make a real difference to our work to prevent cruelty to all animals.”

The op shops are supported by local volunteers who join to help their community and often stay for the companionship and social connections they make with people they wouldn’t have met otherwise.

“We’re currently on the lookout for new op shop volunteers so we’d love to hear from people in the area. We provide full training – no experience is needed, and it’s a great way to make new friends, gain experience and make a difference.”

Donations of clean, high-quality items for sale by the shops are also a great way to show support.
