Special dog-friendly recipe for sweetest RSPCA fundraiser

Published on 12 September 2024

RSPCA Ambassador and award-winning chef Pierrick Boyer is calling on Victorians to try their hand at dog-friendly cupcakes for the RSPCA’s sweetest fundraiser; Cupcake Day.

Home bakers, workplaces, and schools across the state are encouraged to host their own Cupcake Day fundraiser in September to support the RSPCA and sprinkle some kindness for animals in need.

RSPCA Victoria Events Manager Kate Kasby said community support for Cupcake Day provides a much-needed boost to the RSPCA’s essential operations.

“It doesn’t matter where you are or how good you are at baking, anyone can host a Cupcake Day this September and raise money to help animals in need,” Ms Kasby said.

“The money raised from Cupcake Day will help provide care for vulnerable animals across Victoria.

“We had over 8,600 animals come through our shelters last year, with their care costing us millions.

“Unfortunately, RSPCA Victoria isn’t immune to the rising cost-of-living and Cupcake Day is a fun and sweet way for the community to give animals in need across Victoria the love and care they deserve.”

Award-winning chef and Ambassador for RSPCA Victoria, Pierrick Boyer, said he’s excited to share his latest recipe for Cupcake Day 2024.

“I love to bake delicious cupcakes for my friends and family, so I had a lot of fun perfecting the right recipe that my furry friend could also enjoy,” Mr Boyer said.

“This recipe is the perfect human and dog-friendly treat for special occasions, just like Cupcake Day.

“I can’t wait to see everyone’s creations when bake their cupcake at home this year and hope we can all in our way to help the animals in need!

“RSPCA Cupcake Day is fun and tasty way that everyone can enjoy while raising money for animals in need.”

How donations through RSPCA Cupcake Day make a difference:

  • $36 gives heat pads, blankets and bedding to keep a puppy snuggly this winter
  • $57 provides the life-saving milk needed to bottle feed a litter of abandoned kittens
  • $91 helps our team transport animals, increasing their chances of finding their forever family
  • $118 helps our expert surgeons desex a kitten, so they’re ready to find a loving home

Every registered fundraiser will go in the draw to win amazing prizes.
