Million Paws Walk


BY REGISTERING FOR THIS EVENT YOU (“Participant”) AGREE TO COMPLY WITH THE FOLLOWING ‘TERMS AND CONDITIONS’ AND THE ‘SAFETY INFORMATION’ ATTACHED

  1. Event

1.1 The Participant acknowledges and agrees that Million Paws Walk being held on 22 May 2022 in Victoria at various locations (“Event”) is an Event mainly attended by dogs.

1.2 The Participant acknowledges and agrees that should the Participant wish to participate in the Event with an animal which is not a dog, the Participant agrees to accept all liability arising from any injury, loss or damage of any kind suffered by the Participant’s animal or an animal belonging to another participant.

  1. Non-refund

2.1 The entry fees for the Event are non-refundable.

  1. Method of Registration

3.1 Registrations are deemed to be received at the time they reach RSPCA (Vic)’s database and not at the time of submission by the Participant.

3.2 RSPCA (Vic) accepts no responsibility for late, lost, incomplete, incorrectly submitted, delayed, illegible, corrupted or misdirected registrations whether due to error, omission, alteration, tampering, deletion, theft, destruction, transmission interruption, communications failure or otherwise.

3.3 RSPCA (Vic) is not liable for any consequences of user error including (without limitation) costs incurred.

3.4 The Participant agrees that all registrations for the Event will be completed through https://www.millionpawswalk.com.au/find-a-walk#VIC and the following scaled entry fees apply:

3.4.1 The reduced Barking Mad Discount Entry Price will be available from 14 March 2022 – 28 March 2022.

3.4.2 Early Bird Entry Prices will apply from 29 March 2022 – 26 April 2022

3.4.3 Standard Online Entry Prices will apply from 27 April 2022 – 20 May 2022

3.4.4 On 22 May 2022 ‘On the Day’ Entry Prices will apply.

  1. Publicity

4.1 By registering for this Event, the Participant consents for RSPCA Victoria or a third party to take photographs, videotape or digital recordings of the Participant, his/her children or property or photographs, videotape or digital recordings that may identify the Participant, his/her children or property. (“Images”)

4.2 The Participant acknowledges and agrees that the RSPCA (Vic) is unable to exclude individuals from photos due to the number of participants in the Event.

4.3 The Participant consents and agrees that RSPCA Victoria has the right to retain such Images for a period of time as decided by RSPCA Victoria and use such photographs and/or retain the Image/s in print and/or electronically for any lawful purpose, including but not limited to publicity, illustration, advertising and internet content.

4.4 The Participant agrees that by giving consent, RSPCA Victoria will own the intellectual property rights in the Images and can use the Image/s to promote and inform the public about its animal welfare activities and related activities and functions. RSPCA Victoria may reproduce the Image/s in any form, in whole or in part, and distribute the Images by any medium including the internet and digital media.

  1. Exclusion of liability

5.1 RSPCA (Vic) and its associated agencies and companies will not be liable for any loss (including, without limitation, indirect, special or consequential loss or loss of profits), expense, damage, personal injury or death which is suffered or sustained (whether or not arising from any person’s negligence) in connection with this Event, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law (in which case that liability is limited to the minimum allowable by law).

5.2 The Participant acknowledges and agrees that he/she enters this Event at their own risk and the Participant releases the RSPCA (Vic) from all claims and liability arising from any injury, loss or damage to any property, including the Participant’s animal or another Participant’s animal, arising from the Participant’s attendance or the attendance of any person under the Participant’s care at the Event.

  1. Safety

6.1 The Participant agrees to comply with the safety requirements found in the Safety Information attached.

  1. Termination

7.1 In the event of a breach of these terms the RSPCA (Vic) may terminate this agreement

immediately.

7.2 The Participant acknowledges and agrees that if in RSPCA (Vic)’s reasonable opinion, any Participant, or their animal, is involved in any disruptive, aggressive or offensive behaviour or brings alcohol or illegal substances to the Event, endangering the safety of others, RSPCA (Vic) will remove the Participant immediately from the site and the Participant will be solely liable for meeting the cost of any resulting liability or damages.

  1. Privacy statement

8.1 All participant registrations become the property of RSPCA (Vic) upon submission. The information Participants provide will be used by RSPCA (Vic) for the purpose of conducting this Event. RSPCA (Vic) may disclose a Participant’s personal information to its contractors and agents to assist in communicating with Participants. RSPCA Victoria complies with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). 8.2 The Participant consents to the storage of their personal information on RSPCA (Vic)’s database and RSPCA (Vic) may use this information for future promotional and marketing purposes regarding RSPCA (Vic)’s products including contacting the Participant via electronic messaging.

  1. Jurisdiction

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of the state of Victoria and the Participant and RSPCA (Vic) submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.

 

Safety Information

It’s important that all Participants – four legged and two legged alike – have a safe Million Paws Walk. Please

read the following safety advice to ensure that we all have a fun day out!

To participate in the Million Paws Walk 2022, your dog(s) (or other animals) must, as applicable:

  • Wear a collar with an identification tag.
  • Be on a leash at all times.
  • Be fully vaccinated and registered.
  • Have recently (3 weeks leading up to event) had their flea & worming treatment.
  • Must be socialised and non-aggressive to people or other dogs

What to pack for the big doggy day out:

  • Comfortable walking shoes.
  • Sunscreen, sunglasses, hat and appropriate outdoor weather clothing.
  • Pet sunscreen (not human sunscreen) if your dog (or other animal) has a fair/white coat, a pink nose and/or ears or hairless skin.
  • Poop bags to collect ‘doggy deposits’.
  • Money to pay for parking, lunch and to purchase some fantastic pet products and merchandise on sale (where applicable per walk location) or even to make a donation!

Persons under 18 years of age, MUST be accompanied by an adult during ALL stages of the Million Paws Walk – at entry, during the walk and after the walk in the arena area.

Qualified first aid officers will be roaming during the event to attend to any first aid requirements. The first aid area will be clearly visible on the day. Please attend the first aid area immediately if you or a child under your care has been injured.

RSPCA veterinarians will also be available at larger walks for any pet first aid requirements.
