We know that our supporters are just a little bit obsessed with animals. That’s why we are incredibly excited to announce RSPCA Victoria is launching a podcast celebrating all creatures great and small.
On Creature Tales, you’ll hear from a range of animal experts who are leaders in their fields. These include one of only a handful of vet behaviourists in Australia talking about pet PTSD and anxiety, how RSPCA Victoria helped animals during the bushfires, how a fashion icon is using his brand to promote animal welfare and MUCH more. There’ll also be plenty of handy tips along the way for pet owners to make sure their pet is the happiest and healthiest it can be.The podcast is hosted by RSPCA Victoria’s Alexandra Keefe. With a background in television journalism, Alex loves quizzing the experts and bringing stories to life.
Dr Gabrielle Carter is one of only THREE vet behaviourists in Australia. Vet behaviourists are experts in pet psychology. They help us understand what our pet is thinking or feeling. Dr Gabrielle works with pet owners to help identify anxiety, PTSD and stress in animals. She then helps treat and cure that animal.
You’ll also hear from animal behaviourists, Roxy and Nikki, who work with shelter animals to prepare them for their fur-ever homes. A lot of animals come from difficult backgrounds and then find themselves adjusting to their new routine in the shelter. That’s why animal behavourists can truly turn a dog’s life around by preparing them for the real world.
Pyjama king, Peter Alexander, just happens to be one of RSPCA’s amazing ambassadors. Peter has a deep love for animals, especially dogs, and has helped raise more than $1 million for the organisation.
Hear about Peter’s fundraising work, how he gives his dogs the most luxurious life ever, and how you can support animal welfare simply by buying a cute pair of PJs.
This episode is all about the tiniest fur-babies at RSPCA Victoria – rabbits and guinea pigs.
Did you know that RSPCA Victoria helps rehome hundreds of these little creatures every year? It’s often because people don’t realise what a time commitment they can be. In fact, owning a rabbit or guinea pig is just as demanding as owning a cat or a dog. BUT. It’s well worth it, we promise.
Featuring RSPCA Victoria barn team leader, Jessica Collins, we’re chatting about what makes these tiny animals such great pets, busting misconceptions about them, and how you can form the strongest bond possible with your rabbit or guinea pig.
Have you ever looked at a leash or collar and wondered what it was made from?
When vet and entrepreneur, Dr Stephanie Stubbe, realised that almost all items in the pet care industry were made from plastic, she knew she had to act.
Tune in to hear about Australia’s growing waste problem, how pet owners can help, and how a childhood spent by Albury’s Wonga Wetlands inspired Steph to start her own sustainable pet-products.
Creature Tales launches its first three episodes on Wednesday 31 March 2021. It’s available anywhere you subscribe to podcasts. Think Apple Podcasts, iHeart Radio, Spotify, Stitcher, TuneIn and more.
This is the first season of Creature Tales, so we’re sure we’ll learn plenty along the way. We hope you enjoy listening and we can’t wait to share our stories with you.
