 Volunteering at RSPCA Pets Place

Join the RSPCA Pets Place team!

Are you passionate about customer service and love animals? You could be a perfect volunteer to join the RSPCA Pets Place team!

A typical day of a volunteer at RSPCA Pets Place will involve providing lots of care and attention to our dogs, cats, rabbits and guinea pigs looking for loving new homes. You will help enrich the days of our animals including taking our dogs for walks to stretch their legs. Importantly, you will also ensure each animal’s house is looking beautiful at all times (including regular pooper scooping etc.)!

As our centre is a one-stop-shop for animal adoption, care and product advice, your priorities will be both our animals and customers. When not caring for our furry friends, you might help guide our customers and ensure our shelves are fully stocked with products. As part of the RSPCA Pets Place team, you will ensure each customer is provided with the best RSPCA customer experience possible.

Are you the perfect volunteer for RSPCA Pets Place?

We are looking for volunteers who can commit to one or more shifts each week. You must be dedicated, reliable and willing to volunteer for at least six months.  You must be a minimum of 15 years of age. Shifts are available Monday to Sunday from 8am - 12pm, 11:45am - 3pm or 2:45pm - 5:30pm.

Please note that we do not offer short-term, high school community service roles or one-off volunteering opportunities for individuals or groups at Pets Place Ballarat.

Training will be provided but you must have knowledge of and experience with basic animal care. You may currently or previously have owned a pet for example.

Our Volunteer Assistant Info Sheet may help answer additional questions and provide further insight into this exciting new chapter of animal welfare.
