Have you considered adopting an adult cat?

The sad reality is that adult cats are often overlooked when people consider a new pet.  They do however offer many benefits to potential pet owners that shouldn’t be ignored.  Yes, age really does matter!

That is why RSPCA Adoption Centres across Victoria are on a mission to find every adult cat in its care more than just a fling this summer.  We are looking to find them love!

When you adopt an adult cat what you are getting is a low maintenance pet that is great for so many reasons.  It really is a fuss free pet option.  Adult cats generally settle into new homes much quicker and are great for families with young children as they are less likely to scratch or bite.  Best of all, because they already have formed personalities they are ready to start giving you love the moment you meet them.

Until 12 February 2010, people adopting an adult cat (four months or older) from an RSPCA Victoria Adoption Centre will be eligible for a free bonus starter pack valued at $60 which includes everything a new owner of an adult cat could need.  Of course, all of our animals are also microchipped, desexed and vaccinated.

Still not convinced?  An older cat is independent, is great as an indoor pet for those who don’t have large outdoor areas and it won’t require the same amount of upkeep as that of a dog or a kitten.  Need we say more?
