I am a very sweet but sensitive girl looking for an experienced home to help further my training.
When I arrived at the RSPCA I was extremely nervous of people and didn't want anything to do with them. I was difficult to catch and would flinch and react every time I was touched.
After many years of being unhandled and left in a paddock with my mates it was a very frightening time for me.
The staff at the RSPCA decided I would greatly benefit from spending some time with a professional trainer to help me learn that being around people was not such a bad thing after all.
I was sent off to the trainers and it didn't take long before he saw my potential, and that I was purely just reacting out of fear. While I was at the trainers I have learnt how to be caught, lunged, have my feet picked up, receive injections (I was extremely needle shy beforehand) and I even got to spend some nights living in a stable. I have learnt how to stand quietly while tied up, and after lots of desensitisation work I am now wearing a rug too.
I have only recently come back to the shelter after my stint at the trainers, and am now ready for an owner who has the experience and the know-how to continue my journey and help me become the best horse I can be.
I am such a pretty girl, and have a very sweet personality. I am learning to love it when the staff and volunteers spend time giving me brushes and cuddles, however I am still a little nervous so it can take me some time to relax.
I am happy to be a companion for your current horses or ponies, or I think I would even make someone a nice riding horse with a bit more time and effort spent on me.
