Adoption fees
Adoption fees help cover the cost of preparing RSPCA animals for new homes. Each animal is desexed, vaccinated, health and behaviour checked to ensure it's ready to start a new and happy life.
The prices of RSPCA animals vary according to the type of animal and age of the animal. Simply search for an adoption animal and the respective adoption fees will appear in the individual profiles! You can also confirm the location of our adoption centre and the opening hours so you can arrange a visit.

Metropolitan adoption fees (RSPCA Burwood East, Peninsula and Epping)
Canine four-legged friends
- Puppy (aged under 4 months): $320
- Dog: $290
- Senior dog (aged 7 years and over): no fee to adopt
Feline four-legged friends (Available at RSPCA Burwood East and Peninsula only)
- Kitten: $140
- Two kittens: $180
- Cat: $85
- Senior cat (aged 7 years and over): no fee to adopt
Small animals (Available at RSPCA Burwood East and Peninsula only)
- Rabbits and guinea pigs: $50
Regional adoption fees (RSPCA Ballarat, Bendigo, Castlemaine, Portland, Wangaratta and Warrnambool)
Canine four-legged friends
- Puppy (aged under 4 months): $290
- Dog: $265
- Senior dog (aged 7 years and over): no fee to adopt
Feline four-legged friends!
- Kitten: $130
- Two kittens: $180
- Cat: $85
- Senior cat (aged 7 years and over): no fee to adopt
Small animals
- Rabbits and guinea pigs: $50
