RSPCA Policy
Animal Welfare Policy
RSPCA policies are a collection of philosophical statements developed to improve the welfare of animals in Australia. These policies are agreed on and amended by an unanimous vote of the RSPCA National Board, following consultation with each state RSPCA. View our policies on:
- Companion animals
- Farm animals
- Animals used for sport and entertainment
- Animal research and experimentation
- Wildlife
- Transportation of animals
- Humane killing
- Miscellaneous
Following release of an RSPCA policy, position papers, guidelines and codes of practice are often issued by the RSPCA to offer additional information. If available, these documents should always be reviewed in conjunction with any RSPCA policy. For more information on RSPCA policy, please visit the RSPCA Australia Knowledgebase.
